Women on their own path to money and to Bitcoin

In this podcast I talk to women about their own personal journey to money and to Bitcoin. Not about forecasts, not about charts, but about how it really was. How they started, what they learned along the way, what went wrong, and what they would do differently today.

What it is about

The story before the number

Bitcoin is usually discussed as though it were about technology or about price. These conversations are about what comes before that.

  • How money was talked about at home, and what stayed
  • The moment when saving alone stopped being enough
  • What it costs to be the woman who brings up money at dinner
  • Shame, doubt, and the stretches when nobody explained anything
  • What each guest would say to a woman who is right at the beginning

Every episode ends with the same question. The answers to it are the heart of the series, and they come out differently every time.

Episode 2
with Laura Suárez León · October 2026 · in English

Laura Suárez León on money, shame and endurance

Laura grew up in the Dominican Republic, in a home where money was never discussed. It was awkward, she says, and she is unusually open about the shame of realising how recently her own financial education began, despite a master’s degree in international commerce. What finally changed her mind was a seven-page document, and what caught her was not the technology but the question of what money actually is and who decides how much of it exists. We also talk about endurance, which she knows from competitive sport: Laura plays Beach Ultimate for the Spanish national team and won bronze at the World Championships.

Episode 1
with Steffi · September 2026 · in German

Steffi’s path from saving to value investing to Bitcoin

Steffi has two small children, has lived in Switzerland for almost twenty years and spent many years working in finance. She grew up being told to save, save, save. When a large Zurich bank handed her around a hundred pages of investment proposals, very little of it made sense to her, and once she did the maths on the examples, almost nothing was left at the end of the term. From then on she taught herself everything, in the middle of early motherhood, listening to podcasts on her walks. Her advice to women who are just starting out is refreshingly concrete: give yourself three months, do not stop before that, and leave the technology aside at first.

Who it is for

If you recognise yourself here

You do not need to know anything about Bitcoin to listen. Most of the guests knew nothing at the start either.

  • You feel late to the subject of money
  • You want to understand before you act
  • You have nobody to talk to about these questions
  • You are looking for women who have walked the path, not for the next tip
