Context
Why Bitcoin matters, and why it matters for women
Most headlines are about price swings and speculation. Very few explain why Bitcoin was created, which problem it addresses and why women around the world are starting to look at it again with a better-informed eye.
Bitcoin is not “just an investment”. It is a technological answer to structural problems: inflation, inequality, limited financial sovereignty and a fading trust in institutions.
For women this is particularly relevant, for reasons that can be evidenced. Switzerland, where SatoShe is based, publishes unusually clear figures on this, and the pattern will look familiar in most countries. In Switzerland 58.6 per cent of employed women work part time, compared with 20.9 per cent of men. On top of that come 32.4 hours of unpaid household and family work a week, against 22.0 hours for men.
This feeds straight into retirement provision. A pension from the occupational scheme goes to 53.7 per cent of Swiss women and to 73.1 per cent of men. Across all pensions, the amount women receive is 29.9 per cent lower. At the same time women live on average 3.5 years longer, so their savings have to stretch over a longer period.
Understanding Bitcoin is a future skill women need to make their own. It has nothing to do with appetite for risk, it is about regaining clarity, autonomy and confidence.

Good to know
Do I need any prior knowledge to start?
No. Every format is built so that complete beginners can follow. The 8-week programme starts with the fundamentals and takes you step by step to holding your own Bitcoin in self-custody. Questions are genuinely welcome.
Is SatoShe a crypto platform?
No. SatoShe focuses exclusively on Bitcoin as a store of value and as an instrument of financial self-determination. There are no trading signals, no altcoin recommendations and no investment advice.
Which format is right for me?
Completely new to Bitcoin: start with the free newsletter or the 8-week programme. Already own Bitcoin and want to go deeper: the SatoShe Circle membership, which works from anywhere in the world. Want to meet other women in person: the monthly sessions in Zurich. Need individual guidance: one-to-one coaching.
What does the 8-week programme cost?
The self-paced programme costs CHF 1'290 and includes all modules, live Q&A calls and 6 months of Circle membership. The live-guided version, with two additional live calls a month and 12 months of membership, costs CHF 2'490.
Is this investment advice?
No. SatoShe is an educational offering. We explain how Bitcoin works and the economic context it sits in. We do not give investment recommendations, we do not manage assets and we do not sell financial products. Decisions about your finances are yours to make, ideally together with professionals you trust.
Are the sessions only for women?
The SatoShe Sessions are spaces for women. The Bitcoin space is strongly male-dominated, and this protected setting makes it easier to ask questions openly. Corporate workshops and keynotes are open to everyone in a company.
Do you offer anything for companies?
Yes. SatoShe@Corporate provides keynotes, workshops and multi-part learning programmes for banks, law firms, insurers and innovation labs. References include Sygnum Bank, Valiant Bank and Swisscom.
Which language is everything held in?
The SatoShe Circle runs in English, with members joining from a number of different countries, so it works wherever you live. The first English Live-Guided cohort of Bitcoin Foundations starts on 8 March 2027, and selected webinars and collaborations are held in English as well. The monthly sessions in Zurich are mostly held in Swiss standard German.
